Started in 2002 by Mr. Bheda and his friends, Neptune Group has created no less than history in a short span of nine years with a turnover of Rs 400 crore.

Mr Bheda’s story as the man who spearheaded Neptune group to reach unprecedented heights is inspiring. Before starting Neptune, he was executing senior management responsibilities with a well known real estate group. It is there that he learned the nuances of the sector.

A high flying and successful corporate career was already in place. Yet, a strong determination to tread a different path spurred Mr Bheda to take the plunge and the Neptune Group was born. Along with friends, Mr Bheda started Neptune Group with a dream and no capital. First generation entrepreneurs, Mr Bheda and his friends entered into a sector as capital intensive as real estate.

Neptune Group’s first project delivered in a record time was a residential complex with 125 flats. In 2005, the group hit headlines when it acquired a 22-acre property in Mumbai’s Bhandup suburb beating other established players.

Mr Bheda’s philosophy for Neptune has always been putting the consumer first. The group’s bespoke projects are evidence of the fact that there is only quality in the heart of every design.

At 40, Mr Bheda, an astute entrepreneur, knows how to get the best from his team. From working with a few friends to now heading an over 300-strong team, Mr Bheda has almost handpicked the key members. He has ensured that Neptune is a catalyst that channelizes each member’s strength and turns it into an indomitable spirit for the company.

Mr Bheda has an excellent grasp of the real estate landscape with a vision to create world-class sustainable real estate development. An experience of over 17 years gives him an edge to understand the nitty gritty of the real estate business. The latest feather in the cap for the group is the 10,56,000 sq. feet Neptune Magnet Mall in Bhandup – one of the city’s largest shoppertainment destinations. The mall, a one-of-its-kind, will redefine the landscape of Bhandup.

What makes Mr Bheda and his team formidable is the fact that their agenda, business model and approach are unusual and eclectic. Their repertoire of projects include residential projects ranging from high-end to affordable to low-cost categories for high, middle and low income groups. He is also credited with bringing Foster + Partners — a leading UK-based architecture group — for the first time to India for developing a project.

Mr Bheda’s philanthropic side is also reflected from the myriad CSR activities the group undertakes through the Neptune Foundation. He is the chief patron and trustee in various charitable institutions that work actively towards raising the standard of living of various communities. He is also the youngest president of his community — the Kutchi Dasha Oswal Gnati Mahajan.
